The COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly led all industry verticals into a bout of turmoil, and construction is no exception. Because of the inherent nature of business activity alongside the abrupt shift to remote working, construction companies find it extremely difficult to efficiently carry out their work. They need a way to monitor and manage construction sites remotely while ensuring workers’ safety. Furthermore, all stakeholders in the project hierarchy need to have complete job site visibility and access to all relevant data required for increased accountability and successful completion. Even this task becomes challenging for many construction companies owing to the siloed information derived from multiple systems.
WorkerSense effectively resolves these potent challenges with its innovative wearable technology-based solutions that provide sensor-driven insights to enhance job site visibility and workforce engagement. Using these offerings, contractors can streamline time and attendance tracking, automate routine data entry processes, better manage individual health and safety, and give tradesmen due credit for their hard work. “Our products are designed to deliver robust analytics and real-time data to clients, improving onsite performance and overall safety,” states Canyon Dell’ Omo, the Founder and CEO at WorkerSense.
WorkerSense’s uniqueness lies in its ability to deliver operational proficiency by offering products that can collect crucial data from the job site. The company’s smart, hard hat mounted sensor, called the T9 wearable sensor, serves as the collection hub of all the insights from the site. These sensors are connected via LTE cellular and allow clients to access site-related information from any location on any device. These active sensors include various environmental and motion sensors, a GPS module, and other communication infrastructure. The T9 sensors are further enriched by WorkerSense AO-1 rapid-deployment work zone tags-data-rich location information advertisers that can be easily set up around the project site. Clients can effortlessly introduce contextual location information, data on potential risk factors, cost codes, scheduled items for delivery, and notifications about certification and PPE requirements. These tags are very reasonable to configure and require about 30 to 40 seconds to deploy, making it extremely convenient for project teams to continually expand their monitoring capabilities as the project grows.

The information collected from these sensors is fed into WorkerSense’s software ecosystem, comprised of easy-to-use interfaces for project teams and tradesmen. The WorkerSense web platform is a centralized environment that allows project teams to have complete control over the project.
It offers comprehensive project and safety information, providing site teams with real-time production information, man-hours and workforce composition, current risk factors on the job site, and more.
WorkerSense also provides a site command center tool, WorkerSense COMMAND, which runs on Apple TVs and visualizes live job site information in a big-screen environment. Apart from meeting the needs of owners and project teams successfully, WorkerSense’s Tradesman app for iOS and Android gives workers direct access to their personal health, safety, and production data, contributing to a broader theme of transparency reflected across the system as a whole. In the Tradesman app, workers can stay up to date on project progression and broader industry news, compete with their peers through a ranking system driven by experience points earned onsite, access personal health and wellness recommendations, keep track of work history and timecards, and claim complimentary benefits such as discounted phone plans, workout classes, healthy meals, and skills courses.
With its core focus on remote workforce management and engagement, WorkerSense is looking to expand into other verticals, including agriculture and mining, while extending its outreach within international markets, particularly the Asia Pacific region. The company also has several new offerings in its developmental pipeline, especially for further leveraging production data, enriched by ML capabilities. WorkerSense will expand into predictive health, safety, and wellness-oriented functionalities with its products. “With our products, we are ensuring that workers feel good when they get to their job sites and become more productive. We believe a healthy workforce is always going to be more engaged and efficient,” concludes Dell’ Omo.
